Letters to the editor (comment of the day)

I personally and as Officer of the Glasgow Humane Society have been complaining regarding sewage being allowed to enter the river for years (as my father did before me) It is wonderful to find that an organisation like SEPA is finally giving such views their backing.

Years of complaining to SEPA and previously the (Clyde Purification Board) fell on deaf ears. Every time there is a moderate to heavy rainfall in the City, the sewage enters the river. I have recently congratulated the City on vastly lowering the number of poly bags that are around (so many of which end up in the river) perhaps now; something will be done about the sewage.

It is rainwater that enters our river; it is us who put the filth into it.
