Letters – Name the bridge after Parsonage heroes
WHEN naming the new Squinty Bridge over the Clyde, there is surely only one name to the fore – Ben Parsonage.
The man was a hero of the Clyde and other rivers. I well remember him on the Kelvin in his rowing boat more than 25 years ago, helping to recover the body of a suicide victim.
The man was a national treasure and a tribute to Glasgow. I believe his son continues in this tradition.
I suggest the new bridge be called the Parsonage Bridge in their honour.
Their service should be acknowledged and I can think of no better tribute.
